Our Customer Service Representatives can’t recommend specific GreenUp providers. We remain neutral regarding the participating companies and their offerings.
By enrolling in GreenUp, you’re supporting the growth of renewable energy sources in our region. Your electricity service won’t change—you’ll still receive safe, reliable power from us as a Basic Service customer. We’ll continue to deliver electricity, send your monthly bill, and restore power during outages.

If you choose a GreenUp provider, we’ll continue supplying your power, and GreenUp charges will appear as a separate line item on your bill. GreenUp is not a competitive supplier, and Rhode Island Energy will remain your provider unless you choose to switch to a competitive supplier.
The cost of your chosen GreenUp renewable energy generation option will be added to your Basic Service cost and other regular charges. Your monthly GreenUp cost is based on the electricity you use.
You’ll continue to receive one monthly bill from us. The GreenUp option will appear as a separate line item, with the cost based on the price provided by the GreenUp company.
