About our programs

Rhode Island Energy welcomes qualified suppliers to apply for approval to supply natural gas and electricity. We follow a rigorous process to ensure that all suppliers meet our standards for reliability, safety, and sustainability.

Follow these steps to become an approved electric supplier in Rhode Island:

  1. Go to the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission website and follow the necessary steps to become an approved supplier in Rhode Island.
  2. Complete the Non-Regulated Power Producers billing Application.
  3. Complete the EDI Pre-Testing Worksheet (pdf). More information on specific conditions and conditions that will not be tested can be found on our EDI Specific Testing Conditions document.
  4. Visit the ISO New England website for a copy of the ISO-NE Market System Asset Registration Form. Use this information to complete the form: Rhode Island Energy Information for the ISO-NE Market System Asset Registration Form (pdf).
  5. Complete the ACH Payment Authorization Form (pdf) with the W9 Form (pdf) and provide three signed original copies. This authorizes Rhode Island Energy to initiate credit entries to the account specified on the form.
  6. Complete the Approved Supplier Enrolment Form (pdf) and provide two signed original copies. This application should be submitted with the ACH Payment Authorization Form and the W9 Form.
