Filing a claim

Our Claims Department responds to all claims made against Narragansett Electric Co. d/b/a Rhode Island Energy for property damage, bodily injury, or business loss. Claims are processed courteously and objectively and in accordance with our operating tariffs, applicable statutes, and regulations.

How to file a claim

File a claim using our secure email and file transfer portal

How to submit your documents:

  1. Fill out the claim form (pdf)
  2. Use our secure file transfer portal to begin the document submission process.
  3. Select “Upload” to attach your claim form (JPG, PDF, PNG, DOC, and TIFF formats accepted)
  4. Type your email address in the "From" field
  5. Choose "Claims Department" from the “To” field dropdown menu
  6. Enter your service address including city and state in the “Subject” field
  7. Include your full legal name and phone number in the “Message” field
  8. Select "Drop Files Off" to share your documents with Rhode Island Energy

Please allow up to 2 business days for processing.

File a claim by mail

  1. Fill out the claim form (pdf).
  2. Send the form with supporting documentation to:
